Cable/Wire Tracing

Quickly trace and locate various types of unenergized cable including electrical wire, twisted pair, LAN, multi-conductor, telephone, alarm and more. After the Toner is connected to the wire, use the Probe to trace the location of the wire. Audible warble sound will indicate wire location.

Continuity Testing

Use the CTX30 to confirm you've identified both ends of the wire being traced, and it's not open.

POTS Line Tip and Ring Testing

"POTS" refers to Plain Old Telephone Service, also known as Analog Telephone or Landline Telephone Service. For DID trunks, T-1 lines, PBX, and other special telephone circuits, it is important to connect the telephone circuit with proper tip and ring polarity. This tester will allow you to determine which connection is the Tip (T) line and which is the Ring (R) line. Tip is the Positive side, and Ring is the Negative side.

While the toner is designed to work with standard telephone ringing voltage (24 VAC), it is not intended to be used on any active AC circuits over 24V, nor is it designed to be used on any DC circuits exceeding 42 VDC.
